Deep in the sun-searched growths the dragon-fly
Hangs like a blue thread loosened from the sky:
So this winged hour is dropt to us from above.
Oh! clasp we to our hearts, for deathless dower,
This close-companioned inarticulate hour
When twofold silence was the song of love.
-Rossetti, Dante Gabriel

Isn't there something magical about dragonflies? I rarely see them here, but whenever I spot one, it's a special moment. :)

PS: The German word for dragonfly is Libelle. It's nice, isn't it?
Dragonflies fascinate me too, I really enjoy watching them. We get large numbers of them here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty word for such magnificent little creatures - Libelle.
Dragonflies are one of my favorite...insects? Is that what they're classified as?
ReplyDeleteRegardless, I think they're beautiful.
