OWOH One World One Heart Starts Today!

Photo

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!
Winners will be announced shortly.

I can't believe it's finally here!  This was the event that started it all for me last year.  It kicked my rear into gear and got me blogging.  One World One Heart starts TODAY!

You too can be a ticket holder!  If you're new to this event, you're in for a real treat.  If you choose to take the magic carpet ride that is One World One Heart, you will be meeting lots of fabulous bloggers for the first time and possibly reconnecting with some you've met on previous occasions.  This ride will take you to far flung places that are only reachable for most of us via our magic carpet ticket.

I have very warm feelings for this event as it did allow me to form some very lovely friendships with bloggers I met during the 2009 OWOH.  They have become important people to me, even though I have yet to meet them in person.  THIS is why the event was started.  To connect with bloggers that you might not have had the chance to at random.  I would love to know how many friendships hae been made because of one woman's desire and dream of a peaceful way for us to get to know others in our small little world.

By clicking on the picture at the top of the page or by clicking on this link: OWOH,  you will be taken to the site of The Whimisical Bohemian aka Lisa Swifka who started this event in 2007.  Her site tells more about the event and includes a running list of all the bloggers who are participating.

Before leaving here for the OWOH site and continuing on the ride to blogs in faraway places, I hope you'll take a minute to learn about us here at MoonCat Farms and then check out the giveaway below.  While this isn't why OWOH was created, each blog will be offering up a prize for their guests.  It's a way of saying thanks for stopping in & saying hi to me!

My Giveaway
Well, I will be once again giving away A SURPRISE!  I know of a couple of things that will be in the box - something one might wear while on a magic carpet ride and something jangly that has one of the elements from the title of the post in it.  There will be several other goodies added as I go, but who knows what they may be?

If you're up for the suspense of not knowing what you'll win, all you need to do is leave a comment.  You don't have to do anything extraordinary or acrobatic - just say Hi! or tell me something I'd like to hear!  It would be fun to know what part of the world you're visiting from.  You DO have to make sure that I have a way of contacting you if you are the winner.

This giveaway is open to anywhere the magic carpet tour could possibly stop so all are welcome to enter.  Please...just one entry per person.  The drawing will close at midnight PST on February 14th and the winner will be announced here on February 15th.

Just for fun:  I will have a second little drawing for those who can correctly tell me WHAT they think the first two goodies in the box of treasure might be!  Just leave your guess in your comment.

(Please note:  I have comment moderation turned on.  One reason is to stop some of the spam comments that show up, but the MAIN reason is that I want to read each and every comment and not miss any!  I enjoy hearing what visitors have to say..)

Also...if you check back on January 31st....It's my 1 year Blogiversary ....presents .....followers ....presents

Thank you so much for stopping in to visit with us at MoonCat Farms today.  I hope you'll come back often, with or without a magic carpet!

Blogtoberfest 2009

Well, I stumbled across this last night and decided it would be a great way to get my act in gear and start blogging with some regularity. (It's not like I've been reclining on the couch eating bon-bons, mind you...) Now, that we're starting to settle in to the new house and we're getting back to a more normal state, I think I can try to commit (myself to an asylum?).

This blogging festival was created by Cathy (tinniegirl). Bloggers participate by posting every day for the month of October! (You can find a list of these brave blogsters by clicking on the button at the top or on tinniegirl's link.) It is a great way to really challenge yourself and share. I'm looking at it as a way to get my mind back to what is important to me and the family. I have some thoughts on different things I want to write about in the coming month. Many of these are subjects I haven't covered before and hopefully won't have too many of you scratching your heads saying "What the heck?".

I will also be doing a giveaway sometime during the month - I just haven't decided what or when..or how? If you go visit the fabulous blog Curlypops , you will find a list of some of the participants who are also having giveaways! Lots of fun to be had by all. I'm looking forward to seeing what so many bloggers will be coming up with to talk about on a daily basis. Hopefully, I will keep up the pace! Until tomorrow.....

Sewn Giveaway & MoonCat Farms Marketplace Grand Opening

I am participating in another giveaway by bloggers. This is such a fun way to get to know others from around the world. I made some very nice new friends from the first giveaway I participated in and was excited to be told about this one!

This event has been coordinated around the launch of an exciting new website for sewers called Sewn http://www.sewn.net.au/ . It will be making its debut in June, but the creators have decided to have a Blog Launch Party to get the momentum rolling. Many different bloggers are participating and giving away some great prizes in a drawing on their site. Anyone can enter or be involved. The drawings will take place on June 8th. What a fun way to launch this much-needed website for the sewing community. Please be sure to check them all out and sign up for the launch of Sewn!

To enter my drawing, just leave a comment at the end of this post. If you are an email subscriber or follower, you get a 2nd entry into the drawing! I will draw the winner on June 8th and post the name here. Please be sure that I have a way of contacting you if you are my lucky winner!

Now, what the heck am I giving away?? I will be giving away one of my original Spring Flower Pincushion/Sachets. This little beauty can be used as a practical & pretty pincushion or to scent a closet or drawers with the lovely lavender. It is made using 100% cotton material and is stuffed with ec0-friendly fiberfill and organically grown lavender from right here on our place. I really enjoy making these as they are a bright, happy addition to anyone's sewing box and they smell heavenly! (I do make them unscented as well for those who can't tolerate scents.) This little flower is in shades of purple and lavender.

This whole diatribe leads into my next announcement as these little pincushions are one of my first creations to be offered in my new Etsy shop!

I am so happy to finally be able to announce a date for the Grand Opening of my new online Etsy shop. I have been working on all of the tiny little details and getting some of my items photographed so that I can get it launched. So, on June 15th, my new shop: MoonCat Farms Marketplace will officially be open for business! Yeah, finally!! It has taken some time, but I am hoping it will be worth it. We are starting small, but will be expanding on a regular basis as new creations take shape.

I am planning on another drawing or giveaway to celebrate this great step forward for MoonCat Farms and our new Marketplace.

If you want to be kept current on our progress and the happenings here at MoonCat Farms, please sign up on the right hand side of the page. We have lots of options to choose from and that way you won't miss out on our drawings and more fun stuff that we have in the works!

Tea, I must have Tea....

Planting and life in the garden has been keeping myself and the hubby really busy these last few weeks. Spring has sprung around here & we're outside until dark or after just about every night. I am almost ready to launch our etsy store and start offering several of our herb-based products on our website. It is amazing the amount of time involved trying to get a website up and running that is actually easy to use and get around. Details, details....

Most evenings I enjoy a cup of tea to help unwind & decide on the next day's TO-DO list. I LOVE tea and I really like to experiment and try different blends. I was so surprised and thrilled to have my name drawn as a winner of a Tea Sampler from Sarah at Herbs from the Labyrinth. My prize included 15 of her different hand-blended teas that have such awesome names as Moontime Tea, Lover's Tea, Spring in My Step, FemininiTea, Dandy Lion Tea, Hush-A-Bye, Strong As Nails, SereniTea, SmarTea, DigestiviTea, Nursing Mother Tea, Endo-Liver Tea, Love Your Liver Tea, and Mid-Summer Tea. I'm finding that so far my favorite is the Lover's Tea - YUM.. (photo below is from her website)

If you haven't heard about this fun & very knowledgeable group of herbal enthusiasts/entrepreneurs, you must check out their weekly contest that is running through May. Each week, each of the 10 blogs holds a drawing for a wonderful item made by one of the other participants. I believe this week's prize is being offered by Aquarian Bath. Go check it out and have fun exploring some really neat blogs & websites. You may get lucky like I did & have a wonderful new product to try and enjoy.
