My Mama is Home!

FINALLY!   After about a 6 hour ordeal yesterday, I was finally allowed to bring Mom home.  She was so exhausted by the time we made it home that we just took her straight to her room so she could go to bed.

She's feeling a bit better today and much more settled.  She was pretty disoriented waking up in yet another strange room in the span of a month and a half.  She does like that we changed her to this room - sunnier and warmer.  We had a home health care nurse come in who was really sweet and very informative.  So we're going to try to move forward from here and do what we can to make Mom comfy and get her what she needs.

Thank you for all the heartfelt prayers, support, and well wishes.  We all appreciate it very, very much.  (Especially ME when you put up with my ranting and make me feel better with your lovely comments.)

  1. So glad to hear your mama is home! I took care of my father for the last two years of his life, and it's crazy. Your mother is much better off with you than in a skilled nursing facility. She'll be happier, and I'm sure you'll take much better care of her! {hugs}

  2. so glad to hear that ordeal has come to an end for you.... And also that your mother is finally at home where I am sure she enjoys herself much more... Still sending warm wishes and thoughts your way. I am sure I can speak for many when I say, keep us posted on all the progress...and the rantings :-)

  3. Yippee. I'm very happy to hear your mom is home. I hope she gets stronger day by day...and you get some much needed rest too!

    Hugs, many hugs.

  4. I'm glad to know your mom is with you again! I hope she gets better asap - but by your side, of course it will happen. Patience and love are the best post-hospital medicine, you know.

    Kisses and love form us.

  5. Really happy to hear Mom is home and getting settled. I really hope you all get into a nice groove there, and she keeps healing.

    Hugs to you!

  6. Thank you all so much. It is going to be tough getting into a groove that works for all of us, but we'll get it done. It's slowly shaping up. She is definitely happier at home and that's what counts!
