Meanwhile, Back on the Farm

It seems like I've missed several of my regular "What I See Wednesday" posts lately so I'll catch up a bit today with some pictures of what we've been up to around MoonCat Farms.

What I see when I take my tea out in the front yard and watch the sun come up:

Chandler & Cailen

We want toast too!

I've been shelling a bunch of these: (isn't this a beauty of a pea pod?)

Doing a bit of sewing on these pretty little squares when I'm in the mood (not often, lately):

Patiently explaining to Mr. MoonCat exactly WHY the mints must be kept in planters:

Harvesting and drying lots of these marigolds and calendula blooms:

Now I'm off to experiment with recipes I've been playing around with that incorporate some of the mint and calendula that I've been picking.  Happy Weekend my friends!

  1. Cute pets! I loved the smiling peas! :)

Oh, and the wonderful colors of your calendulas and marigolds... When you approve the recipes with herbs, post them here for us!

  2. Lovely pics! My peas are looking like that too. Almost done with the crop now.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. My peas are pretty much finished now too. We were so lucky with a REAL Spring this year. It confused the heck out of our plants so we had cooler weather veggies like the peas until this last week. Now we're hitting the 100s though :(

Hope you're having a lovely weekend as well.

  4. Nydia,

I loved the pretty colors that day too. It's funny because orange and yellow aren't usually my favorites, but they definitely popped that day. I'm making soap so we'll see what comes of it :)

  5. I'm jealous of your pot marigolds. Ours aren't blooming yet! I'm wanting to make some lotion with mine although soap would be great too. Look forward to seeing your soap.

  6. We had fresh peas last night, but that pod of yours is pretty special!

  7. Lynda, I only have a couple of the calendulas, but they're quite prolific! I'm going to plant a bunch more of them next time. The bees just love them too. (We'll see how the soap comes out - I'm experimenting)

Nancy, I almost hated to shell the little cutie - but boy was it worth it :)
